A small production house, Dathari Multimedia has developed a number of audio productions, as well as contributed to a number of different shows, from within both the Star Wars and Myst / Uru Communities.

History[]

Dathari Multimedia began in late 2005 with the release of the first show to be solely focused on Star Wars video games, Centerpoint Arcade. As production on that continued, the host, Eric Olp, began working on adapting the novel Myst: The Book of Atrus for an audio drama. However, due to a number of production issues as well as the (temporary) closure of the Cyan Worlds game developer, the project was placed on hold.

Dathari Multimedia began to spread its influence throughout 2006, as work on Centerpoint Arcade continued, and Dathari Multimedia began producing the quick news show, TCT Shortwave, and later, The Cavern Today Extra, a spin-off of the Uru podcast The Cavern Today.

It was in 2006 when Dathari Multimedia "employed" its second staffer, Centerpoint Arcade host Andy Olp. Although his appearance was limited by the hiatus of the show, his appearance revitalized a struggling show.

During the hiatus that Centerpoint Arcade went on, Dathari Multimedia began to turn its focus towards revitalizing the Book of Atrus project. With some help from the Myst/Uru community, the first part of Myst: The Book of Atrus was released in November.

2007 was a much quieter year for official Dathari Multimedia projects, but its presence was not entirely gone. Dathari Multimedia became the full time producer of the Cavern Today Extra, as well as contributing to productions from Lion's Mouth Entertainment.

May 2008 saw the release of Dathari's first fan audio drama: Star Wars: Stand, written and prodcued by Eric Olp.

Origin of Name[]

Dathari Multimedia is named for the first production to come from the Admin of DM, the Dathari Trilogy of novels, and in particular, the first novel, Dathari: Shadowstone. A fantasy tale, it chronicled the journey of a young man swept up in a secret war with invaders that the public did not know about. The second novel, Dathari II: Allegiance, began its release schedule in summer of 2007, and the release of the final chapter, Dathari III: Darkness, is scheduled for a 2008 release.
